Jonathan is an engineer turned energy systems analyst and is interested in studying decarbonization. He is currently focused on the electric sector and has researched topics including:
- Energy storage
- Geothermal energy
- CO2 Transportation and geologic storage
- Utilization of geologically stored CO2
- Variable renewable energy integration
To to this, Jonathan has developed experience building, using, and integrating tools such as:
- Capacity expansion models of the electric power system
- Economic dispatch models of the electric power system
- Price-taker optimization models
- Coupled plant-level models of geothermal wells and power plants
- Cost models of geothermal power plants
- Cost models of geologic CO2 storage sites
- Dynamic programs
- Reservoir simulation
When he is not crunching numbers, Jonathan enjoys running, skiing, reading, cooking (and eating!), and cheering for The Ohio State Buckeyes.
