Research Interests

I enjoy working at the intersection of laboratory experiments, fieldwork, and numerical modeling to study geothermal energy extraction. Particularly, I am interested in establishing the techno-economic feasibility of using supercritical CO2 – instead of water and/or brines – as the subsurface working fluid in sedimentary basins and enhanced geothermal systems (EGS). For this, during my PhD, I plan to use experimental data and ML-aided reservoir simulations to research the multiphase, multicomponent flow of sCO2 in geothermal rocks and its chemical reactive transport in fractured porous media.
